Our Identity
B.B. Azra Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Newport, Vermont. We are a grantmaking foundation dedicated to creating measurable, lasting change in the lives of people facing poverty, educational barriers, and crisis.

Our Model
B.B. Azra Foundation is a grantmaking and partner-support foundation. This means we do not run programs directly. Instead, we identify, vet, and financially support other established 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose work aligns with our mission areas: education, poverty relief, and disaster and hardship response.
This model offers several important advantages. It eliminates redundancy — rather than building infrastructure that already exists, we fund organizations that have already built it. It maximizes efficiency — our administrative overhead is minimal, meaning the vast majority of funds we receive reach beneficiaries rather than operations. And it leverages expertise — we partner with organizations that have deep knowledge of the communities they serve.
As the Foundation grows, we intend to develop our own programmatic work alongside our partner-support activities. But our commitment to efficiency, accountability, and measurable impact will remain unchanged regardless of how our model evolves.
